MOV : എന്നാൽ ബെന്യാമീന്യനായി ബിക്രിയുടെ മകനായ ശേബ എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു നീചൻ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ കാഹളം ഊതി: ദാവീദിങ്കൽ നമുക്കു ഓഹരി ഇല്ല; യിശ്ശായിയുടെ മകങ്കൽ അവകാശവും ഇല്ല; യിസ്രായേലേ നിങ്ങൾ വീട്ടിലേക്കു പൊയ്ക്കൊൾവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And there happened to be there a man of Belial, whose name [was] Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite: and he blew a trumpet, and said, We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.
YLT : And there hath been called there a man of worthlessness, and his name [is] Sheba, son of Bichri, a Benjamite, and he bloweth with a trumpet, and saith, `We have no portion in David, and we have no inheritance in the son of Jesse; each to his tents, O Israel.`

ESV : Now there happened to be there a worthless man, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjaminite. And he blew the trumpet and said, "We have no portion in David, and we have no inheritance in the son of Jesse; every man to his tents, O Israel!"
ERVEN : At that place there was a man named Sheba son of Bicri. Sheba was a worthless troublemaker from the tribe of Benjamin. He blew a trumpet to gather the people together and said, "We have no share in David. We have no part in the son of Jesse. Israel, let's all go home."

MOV : അപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽ ഒക്കെയും ദാവീദിനെ വിട്ടു പിന്മാറി ബിക്രിയുടെ മകനായ ശേബയുടെ പക്ഷം ചേർന്നു; യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരോ യോർദ്ദാൻ തുടങ്ങി യെരൂശലേംവരെ തങ്ങളുടെ രാജാവിനോടു ചേർന്നു നടന്നു.
KJV : So every man of Israel went up from after David, [and] followed Sheba the son of Bichri: but the men of Judah clave unto their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.
YLT : And every man of Israel goeth up from after David, after Sheba son of Bichri, and the men of Judah have cleaved to their king, from the Jordan even unto Jerusalem.
RV : So all the men of Israel went up from following David, and followed Sheba the son of Bichri: but the men of Judah clave unto their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.
RSV : So all the men of Israel withdrew from David, and followed Sheba the son of Bichri; but the men of Judah followed their king steadfastly from the Jordan to Jerusalem.

MOV : ദാവീദ് യെരൂശലേമിൽ അരമനയിൽ എത്തി; അരമന സൂക്ഷിപ്പാൻ പാർപ്പിച്ചിരുന്ന പത്തു വെപ്പാട്ടികളെയും രാജാവു അന്തഃപുരത്തിൽ ആക്കി രക്ഷിച്ചു എങ്കിലും അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നില്ല. അങ്ങനെ അവർ ജീവപര്യന്തം കാവലിലിരുന്നു വൈധവ്യം ആചരിച്ചു.
KJV : And David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women [his] concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in ward, and fed them, but went not in unto them. So they were shut up unto the day of their death, living in widowhood.
YLT : And David cometh in unto his house at Jerusalem, and the king taketh the ten women-concubines -- whom he had left to keep the house, and putteth them in a house of ward, and sustaineth them, and unto them he hath not gone in, and they are shut up unto the day of their death, in widowhood living.

ERVEN : David went back to his house in Jerusalem. He had left ten of his slave women to take care of the house. He put these women in a special house. Then he put guards around the house. They stayed in this house until they died. David took care of the women and gave them food, but he did not have sexual relations with them. They lived like widows until they died.

MOV : അനന്തരം രാജാവു അമാസയോടു: നീ മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തിന്നകം യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മരെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി അവരുമായി ഇവിടെ വരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : Then said the king to Amasa, Assemble me the men of Judah within three days, and be thou here present.
YLT : And the king saith unto Amasa, `Call for me the men of Judah [in] three days, and thou, stand here,`
RV : Then said the king to Amasa, Call me the men of Judah together within three days, and be thou here present.
RSV : Then the king said to Amasa, "Call the men of Judah together to me within three days, and be here yourself."

ERVEN : The king told Amasa, "Tell the people of Judah to meet with me in three days. You must be here, too."

MOV : അങ്ങനെ അമാസാ യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മരെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടുവാൻ പോയി; എന്നാൽ കല്പിച്ച അവധിയിലധികം അവൻ താമസിച്ചുപോയി.
KJV : So Amasa went to assemble [the men of] Judah: but he tarried longer than the set time which he had appointed him.
YLT : and Amasa goeth to call Judah, and tarrieth beyond the appointed time that he had appointed him;
RV : So Amasa went to call {cf15i the men of} Judah together: but he tarried longer than the set time which he had appointed him.

MOV : എന്നാറെ ദാവീദ് അബീശായിയോടു: അബ്ശാലോം ചെയ്തതിനെക്കാളും ബിക്രിയുടെ മകനായ ശേബ ഇപ്പോൾ നമുക്കു അധികം ദോഷം ചെയ്യും; അവൻ ഉറപ്പുള്ള വല്ല പട്ടണത്തിലും കടന്നു നമ്മുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽനിന്നു തെറ്റിപ്പോകാതാരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ നിന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ ചേവകരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു അവനെ പിന്തുടരുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And David said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us more harm than [did] Absalom: take thou thy lord’s servants, and pursue after him, lest he get him fenced cities, and escape us.
YLT : and David saith unto Abishai, `Now doth Sheba son of Bichri do evil to us more than Absalom; thou, take the servants of thy lord, and pursue after him, lest he have found for himself fenced cities, and delivered himself [from] our eye.`
RV : And David said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us more harm than did Absalom: take thou thy lord-s servants, and pursue after him, lest he get him fenced cities, and escape out of our sight.
RSV : And David said to Abishai, "Now Sheba the son of Bichri will do us more harm than Absalom; take your lord's servants and pursue him, lest he get himself fortified cities, and cause us trouble."
ASV : And David said to Abishai, Now will Sheba the son of Bichri do us more harm than did Absalom: take thou thy lords servants, and pursue after him, lest he get him fortified cities, and escape out of our sight.
ESV : And David said to Abishai, "Now Sheba the son of Bichri will do us more harm than Absalom. Take your lord's servants and pursue him, lest he get himself to fortified cities and escape from us."
ERVEN : David said to Abishai, "Sheba son of Bicri is more dangerous to us than Absalom was. So take my officers and chase Sheba. Hurry before he gets into cities with walls. If he gets into the well-protected cities, we will not be able to get him."

MOV : അങ്ങനെ യോവാബിന്റെ ആളുകളും ക്രോത്യരും പ്ളേത്യരും സകലവീരന്മാരും ബിക്രിയുടെ മകനായ ശേബയെ പിന്തുടരുവാൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു.
KJV : And there went out after him Joab’s men, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and all the mighty men: and they went out of Jerusalem, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.
YLT : And the men of Joab go out after him, and the Cherethite, and the Pelethite, and all the mighty men, and they go out from Jerusalem to pursue after Sheba son of Bichri;
RV : And there went out after him Joab-s men, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites, and all the mighty men: and they went out of Jerusalem, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.

ERVEN : So Joab took the Kerethites and Pelethites and the other soldiers with him and left Jerusalem to chase after Sheba son of Bicri.

KJV : When they [were] at the great stone which [is] in Gibeon, Amasa went before them. And Joab’s garment that he had put on was girded unto him, and upon it a girdle [with] a sword fastened upon his loins in the sheath thereof; and as he went forth it fell out.
YLT : they [are] near the great stone that [is] in Gibeon, and Amasa hath gone before them, and Joab [is] girded; his long robe he hath put on him, and upon it a girdle -- a sword [is] fastened upon his loins in its sheath; and he hath gone out, and it falleth.

ERVEN : When Joab and the army came to Big Rock at Gibeon, Amasa came out to meet them. Joab was wearing his uniform. He had on a belt, and his sword was in its sheath. As he was walking toward Amasa, Joab's sword fell out of its sheath. He picked up the sword and was holding it in his hand.

MOV : യോവാബ് അമാസയോടു: സഹോദരാ, സുഖം തന്നേയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അമാസയെ ചുംബനം ചെയ്‍വാൻ വലത്തുകൈകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ താടിക്കു പിടിച്ചു.
KJV : And Joab said to Amasa, [Art] thou in health, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kiss him.
YLT : And Joab saith to Amasa, `Art thou [in] peace, my brother?` and the right hand of Joab layeth hold on the beard of Amasa to give a kiss to him;
RV : And Joab said to Amasa, Is it well with thee, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.

MOV : എന്നാൽ യോവാബിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ വാൾ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു അമാസാ സൂക്ഷിച്ചില്ല; യോവാബ് അവനെ അതു കൊണ്ടു വയറ്റത്തു കുത്തി കുടൽ ചോർത്തിക്കളഞ്ഞു; രണ്ടാമതു കുത്തേണ്ടിവന്നില്ല; അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയി. യോവാബും അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അബീശായിയും ബിക്രിയുടെ മകനായ ശേബയെ പിന്തുടർന്നു.
KJV : But Amasa took no heed to the sword that [was] in Joab’s hand: so he smote him therewith in the fifth [rib,] and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.
YLT : and Amasa hath not been watchful of the sword that [is] in the hand of Joab, and he smiteth him with it unto the fifth [rib], and sheddeth out his bowels to the earth, and he hath not repeated [it] to him, and he dieth; and Joab and Abishai his brother have pursued after Sheba son of Bichri.

ERVEN : Amasa didn't pay any attention to the sword that was in Joab's hand. Joab stabbed Amasa in the belly with his sword. Amasa's intestines spilled out on the ground. Joab didn't have to stab him again—he was already dead. Then Joab and his brother Abishai resumed the chase after Sheba son of Bicri.

MOV : യോവാബിന്റെ ബാല്യക്കാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ അതിന്നരികെ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു യോവാബിനോടു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളവനും ദാവീദിന്റെ പക്ഷക്കാരനും യോവാബിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെല്ലട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And one of Joab’s men stood by him, and said, He that favoureth Joab, and he that [is] for David, [let him go] after Joab.
YLT : And a man hath stood by him, of the young men of Joab, and saith, `He who hath delight in Joab, and he who [is] for David -- after Joab!`
RV : And there stood by him one of Joab-s young men, and said, He that favoureth Joab, and he that is for David, let him follow Joab.
RSV : And one of Joab's men took his stand by Amasa, and said, "Whoever favors Joab, and whoever is for David, let him follow Joab."
ASV : And there stood by him one of Joabs young men, and said, He that favoreth Joab, and he that is for David, let him follow Joab.
ESV : And one of Joab's young men took his stand by Amasa and said, "Whoever favors Joab, and whoever is for David, let him follow Joab."
ERVEN : One of Joab's young soldiers stood by Amasa's body and said, "All of you who support Joab and David, let's follow Joab."

MOV : അമാസാ വഴിനടുവിൽ രക്തത്തിൽ മുഴുകി കിടന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ജനമൊക്കെയും നില്ക്കുന്നു എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവൻ അമാസയെ വഴിയിൽനിന്നു വയലിലേക്കു മാറ്റി; അവിടെ എത്തുന്നവനെല്ലാം നില്ക്കുന്നു എന്നു കാൺകകൊണ്ടു അവൻ ഒരു വസ്ത്രം അവന്റെമേൽ ഇട്ടു.
KJV : And Amasa wallowed in blood in the midst of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people stood still, he removed Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a cloth upon him, when he saw that every one that came by him stood still.
YLT : And Amasa is rolling himself in blood, in the midst of the highway, and the man seeth that all the people have stood still, and he bringeth round Amasa out of the highway to the field, and casteth over him a garment, when he hath seen that every one who hath come by him -- hath stood still.
RV : And Amasa lay wallowing in his blood in the midst of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people stood still, he carried Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a garment over him, when he saw that every one that came by him stood still.
RSV : And Amasa lay wallowing in his blood in the highway. And any one who came by, seeing him, stopped; and when the man saw that all the people stopped, he carried Amasa out of the highway into the field, and threw a garment over him.

ERVEN : Amasa was there in the middle of road, lying in his own blood. The young soldier noticed that all the people kept stopping to look at the body, so he rolled the body off the road and into the field and covered it with a cloth.

MOV : അവനെ പെരുവഴിയിൽനിന്നു മാറ്റിയശേഷം എല്ലാവരും ബിക്രിയുടെ മകനായ ശേബയെ പിന്തുടരുവാൻ യോവാബിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ പോയി.

MOV : മറ്റവർ വന്നു ബേത്ത്-മാഖയോടു ചേർന്ന ആബേലിൽ അവനെ നിരോധിച്ചു പട്ടണത്തിന്നു നേരെ വാടകോരി; അതു കിടങ്ങിന്റെ വക്കത്തായിരുന്നു; യോവാബിനോടുകൂടെയുള്ള എല്ലാ പടജ്ജനവും മതിൽ തള്ളിയിടുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഇടിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി.
KJV : And they came and besieged him in Abel of Beth-maachah, and they cast up a bank against the city, and it stood in the trench: and all the people that [were] with Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.
YLT : and they go in and lay siege against him, in Abel of Beth-Maachah, and cast up a mount against the city, and it standeth in a trench, and all the people who are [are] with Joab are destroying, to cause the wall to fall.
RV : And they came and besieged him in Abel of Beth-maacah, and they cast up a mount against the city, and it stood against the rampart: and all the people that were with Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.

ASV : And they came and besieged him in Abel of Beth-maacah, and they cast up a mound against the city, and it stood against the rampart; and all the people that were with Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.
ESV : And all the men who were with Joab came and besieged him in Abel of Beth-maacah. They cast up a mound against the city, and it stood against the rampart, and they were battering the wall to throw it down.
ERVEN : When Joab and his men came to Abel Beth Maacah, they surrounded the town. They piled dirt up against the city wall and began breaking stones out of the wall to make it fall down.
